The English composer and conductor Oliver Knussen has influenced me by his sociability, his friendliness and by the fact that he is a first-rate composer. His colour palette in sound is subtle and diverse, his work concentrated and miniaturist. He sounds almost French! I am still getting to know his music. Check out the 3rd Symphony (Op. 8).
