Terence Young (1915-1994)

Terence Young was the director of perhaps the best of the James Bond films: From Russia with Love (1963) and Thunderball (1965). (He also directed Dr No. [1962]).

With Ian Fleming, he was the man responsible for bringing the early Bond films that British magic. As Albert Broccoli and Donald Zec have said in Broccoli's autobiography: Young [...] was helpful in the development of the character. As Robert Cotton has said in an online article: Who [...] would take a Chinese man with metal claws seriously? This is Young's talent: making the unbelievable believable through intelligence, style, wit and charm.

Other good films by Young include The Valachi Papers (1972) and Triple Cross (1966).
